A 1:100 concept model for a holiday house in Western Australia, the site has a very steep slope which proved tricky to model and print succesfully. The project was modelled in archicad, where it was broken into small enough parts to fit the build plate. This also allows for the client to take apart the model and get a better idea of the spaces. The parts were then cleaned with Netfabb and printed on the Makerbot Replicator 2. Fewer issues were experienced with this model compared to the last couple but as always there were a few curling issues and the odd 'ghost in the machine.'
Instructions
Printed on the Replicator 2 using the Makerware software, most parts were printed with 0.2mm layer height, 3 shells and 10% infill. The base sections were printed with 5% infill as this seems to reduce the curling issues. RBA - House 3 by rba is licensed under the Attribution - Non-Commercial - No Derivatives license.
